Personal Statement:Sixth Form 14
From The Student RoomTSR Wiki > Applications > Personal Statement Library > Personal Statement:Sixth Form 14 Sixth Form Personal StatementMy favourite lessons at school include modern languages, as I believe that communication is very important and I would like to be involved further with languages that I am studying at school, French and German, as I get older. I recently achieved an A* for a speaking test in both French and German, in which I had to speak for 4 minutes about myself. I am also good at reading and listening and am able to understand when spoken to in either language. In the future, I would like to take a course involving languages at university and I think that I would enjoy a career involving languages and I would like to be able to visit different countries whilst working English is another of my preferred subjects, as I enjoy reading and writing a lot. I am good at essay writing and in all of my pieces of coursework at GSCE level I have achieved at least a B, in one case an A*. I am able to understand archaic writing as we have often studied the work of Shakespeare along with some pre-1914 poetry. I can always find relevant quotations to use in my essays when studying a piece of writing and know how and when to use quotation marks. I feel that I am good at English and achieved a level 7 at SATs level in Year 9 In science, I always behave responsibly as I feel that it is important when working around harmful chemicals. I am able to take part in practical work and always make sure that I am involved with the work when my group is doing an experiment. My interest has grown in science since I gained a high level 7 in my SATs and I feel as though I am performing well at GCSE level so far in the subject I also enjoy business studies, as it is a new subject to me (I have only been studying it since the beginning of Year 10) and because of this I find it interesting. Although I have been learning many new skills in the subject, it has also improved my word processing skills through working on computers In history, I am able to use sources well and find it easy to tie in with the work, as well as being able to identify primary evidence from secondary evidence. Although I often find the work in history difficult, I feel as though my skills are constantly improving and I am enthusiastic in the subject and always ask about the work when I do not understand something Once Year 11 is over, and I have completed my GCSE exams, I would like to stay on at school to do my A levels, before moving on to university to possibly take a course in modern languages.
