As the name suggests, Thames Valley University is in the Thames Valley. It's located across three sites Slough and Reading Campuses are to the west of London while the Ealing Campus in the west of Greater London. It became a university in 1992 having previously been the Polytechnic of West London. In terms of number of students it is huge with over 50,000 of them across the three campuses. However there are only about 20,000 people enrolled on undergraduate or postgraduate degrees (still very sizable in it's own right). The other 30,000 students are all enrolled on further education courses.
