The University of Luton and De Montfort University's Bedford campus combined forces in August 2006 to create the new University.

The University of Bedfordshire is the largest provider of undergraduate and postgraduate education in Bedfordshire, and provides excellent opportunities for more people to access top quality higher education. We work closely with employers on our curriculum, while forging close links with UK companies to provide a broad range of training and accredited industry programmes.

Libraries

Access to quality learning resources and information technology is an essential part of your university experience and at the Luton campus this is given a high priority. Built in 1997, our £8 million Learning Resources Centre offers a modern learning environment with over three hundred networked PCs within a traditional university library service. Welfare

Shops

Luton is home to one of the UK’s leading covered shopping centres – the Arndale - which is bursting with over 120 shops ranging from high street favourites to smaller specialist shops. Bedford grew up around a traditional open-air market which still exists today on Wednesdays to Saturdays in St Paul's Square and along the river. The town also has all the popular high street stores alongside specialist shops and boutiques.
