Whilst I cannot confirm the discount, it can be gained by going to a staffed station in this area and showing your valid NUS Identity Card. The season ticket must be 7 days, 1 month or 3 months in length. This discount is only valid on Southern train services (penalty fares will probably apply when used on other train companies trains). There is no mention on time limits in the fares manual or on the website, so there is a possibility it could be used by students living in around Sussex commuting to work during the summer (but I never gave you that idea).
