Our full-time MSc Physiotherapy course is part of our School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences.
This degree has the duration of two years and is designed as a continuous progression of integrated theory and practice, placing emphasis on students being proactive partners in their learning experiences.

We are accredited by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Our staff has expertise in a variety of different backgrounds such us acute inpatient care, community settings and outpatient rehabilitation. 👨*🎓
This enables Essex students to achieve a level of preparation that helps them succeed in placements.
Our Practice-based placements are organised by our placement team and each student is timetabled to complete approximately 1,000 hours of practice-based learning.
During placements, you'll work with qualified physiotherapists and other professionals to consolidate learning, gain new experiences and develop and refine your abilities.
Learning on placement is achieved through interactive experiences and practice educators facilitating personal and professional growth within a variety of settings.
The environment is supportive, enabling you to rehearse skills with constructive feedback.

Students are eligible to claim back travel expenses from dislocation to placements. 🚗🚅

Within our School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences, we have a range of specialist clinical laboratories and IT facilities to assist you with the effective learning and acquisition of new skills; for students of MSc Physiotherapy, we have four specialist labs on our Colchester Campus which provides you with all the facilities you need to train as a physiotherapist.👘📚
We also offer excellent physical and online resources in terms of libraries, computer labs, datasets, archives and other research materials.📰

Regarding what is like to study at Essex, we are home to students from kore than 140 countries.🌏
Our library is open 24/7, students can rent computers and take them home as well as printing is free thought the duration of your degree.💻📓

Colchester campus has a number of coffee shops including Costa and Starbucks, restaurants, supermarket offering food from all around the world as well as bars and a night club where students not only use it for leisure but also can get a part time job in our facilities thought their time at Essex.🍕🍜🍣🥓💃
Our students Union is run by students for students and offers more than 100 societies and sports professional teams you can join.
Essex SU, is big on making students welcome so every week there multiple activities occurring in campus such us international mixers to game nights.
Every Thursday the SU hosts a food market where coffee shops from town sell their food in our squares as well as your night club during the day transforms into a vintage clothing shop.🍚🥧👗
We also offer dog therapy every Monday on our students centre and during spring our campus hosts a farm where students can take the stress out by petting the animals.
