I need help with IRAC question HELP

Joanne Jones was walking home from cricket practice one day when she met Shazia Khan. Out of nowhere, Ms Khan said to Ms Jones, ‘You should split up with your boyfriend, Harry, because you can do better.’ Ms Jones became very angry and lost her self-control. While angry, she embarked on a frenzied attack on Ms Khan, hitting Ms Khan’s head repeatedly with the cricket bat. Ms Khan died as a result of the incident.

The police have arrested Ms Jones and charged her with murder. During her police interview, Ms Jones maintained that she killed Ms Khan because she had lost self-control as a result of what Ms Khan said to her.

What you need to do here is go through each element of the loss of self-control defence, apply it to this situation and reach a conclusion on whether that part of the defence would be in place or not. Once you have done that, your overall conclusion should sum up how likely it is that Ms Jones would be successful pleading this defence and why.
