PhD CLassics with Open University pros and cons

What are the pros and cons of doing a PhD CLassics with Open University?
This is my last year of a Masters with the OU and I must say that it's been a lonely 8 years.

Congrats on nearly having your masters!
Just in case you're not aware (since you mentioned loneliness), full-time research students are on-campus, not remote.
It's possible to do a part-time PhD with some location flexibility but (1) you'd still be expected to attend various events etc and (2) you may struggle to find funding opportunities for part-time.

Before answering your question, be useful to know. What is your endgame and how does having a PhD get you closer to this?

Ah good question. The endgame is publishing a piece of research I always wanted to write. But I decided to get qualified first and do it properly.
