This year we have had an exciting start in performance sport at Essex and we wanted to share a few key success with you:

- Historic win from our men's basketball 1st team, securing the BUCS Premier League South title for the first time in the University's history🏀
- Our men's basketball 2nd team are in a great position for BUCS Tier 1 promotion and in contention for the Conference Cup🏀

- Men's Division 1 team have reached the semi-finals of the Basketball England National Cup, competing for a place in the final after Christmas marking yet another historic milestone for our University🏀

- Our women's basketball team have secured the BUCS Premier South title 🏀

- Our professional Essex Rebels women's basketball team are currently placed 5th in the Women's British Basketball League after some big wins so far this season 🏀

- We are delighted to have coach development officer for our FA Women's High Performance Football Centre Rosi Webb step in. She is the highest ranked female coach in men's football in England ⚽

- Both men's and women's tennis teams have advanced to the next round of BUCS National Trophy, noteworthy due to the league's distinct structure - Tier 1 and Premier League teams jointly contest BUCS National Trophy, while the Championship is contested by teams in BUCS National Premier League 🎾

- Our Essex Rebels Volleyball Teams have achieved their highest position to date in the Volleyball England Super League, currently sitting in 4th and are set to contest the Volleyball England National Cup quarter-finals in the New Year 🏐

- Our men's 1st team and Women's team have secured top position in their Tiers and both are positioned to be promoted 🏉

Scholarships and Bursaries for 2024-25 💷
We have a series of tailored scholarships and bursaries, underlining our commitment to supporting athletes both academically and athletically. These include up to 100% fee waivers available in volleyball, basketball and football. We do have a series of 25% fee waivers to support achieving our ambitions across our performance sport plans and BUCS strategy, with a focus on enhancing the student experience through our fan engagement project. Applications are open and those interested can apply directly using our Sport Scholarship Application Form.

Congratulation! That's a lot of awards! I'm a 2024 applicant, could you give me some insight on the men's volleyball? What are the facilities like and is it a very competitive environment or can anyone join? Just trying to decide whether to accept my offer or not so any answer is appreciated!
