That's the IMS building isn't it? Not really the university.

It's the School of Education & Music - the biggest windows are specialist rooms set out to look like classrooms, one for science, one for home ec, one for drama etc. Quite a nice building on the inside, very modern and well equipped. Fantastic views as well from upstairs.

The IMS is up at foresterhill hospital which is quite a distance off campus.

I'm from Aberdeen too, having lived there all my life - don't mind it much. City itself has pretty bits but nasty bits as well (Tillydrone and Mastrick anyone?).. It's a good uni though - everyone's very friendly

No, I don't go there. My mum, however, will be starting there in September.
I've just finished my two years at the college and will be going to Manchester.

Ooo Good luck  Bristol UWE for me! Anything is better than Peterborough though!
I really like Heriot Watt and plan to go there but I wasnt a fan of the buildings, big brown cubes all over the place.
I actually quite like the 60's style...but then again I did grow up in a 16 storey Moscow flat. I live in a Victorian house now but would MUCH rather live on a 60's glass-and-concrete campus than some 15th century manor. So I actually think most of the "ugly" buildings people have posted are rather nice! And vice versa for the old ones...there's just something creepy and unsettling about these old chapels and castles.

But I have to agree this is horrendous (TVU, how surprising)

UCL isn't the ugliest university by a long shot, in fact it's definitely one of the most aesthetically pleasing out there. Unfortunately it does have one abomination (although I think it's shared with other institutions/organisations):

That's my future department  Although, that area of Bloomsbury is very beautiful with the parks, the church, the museum and the senate house!
Most of Newcastle Uni looks OK, but who on earth thought this looked good?

And Castle Leazes:

It's (half of) my future department as well lol. I know, I can't believe this building rubs shoulders with some of the most picturesque buildings and parks in London!

Thank you so much, I was starting to despair until I saw your post. All the cherry picked images for universities were annoying me. No one posts the ugly images of beautiful universities and vice versa. I mean, someone posted the back end of Kent's library as a showcase of what it looks like.

I was going to say 'most new universities' until I realized that Greenwich is probably one of the best looking universities around.

Yeah some of the new uni's are actually quite nice. Greenwich is definitely one of the best university campuses in Britain. Trent university's main building is also quite nice.

York is certainly a mixed bag.

Whilst central hall looks absolutely horrific...

Kings Manor in the snow...wow.

York is quite a pretty city too.

That first building looks nice!

Like a...giant spaceship.

And spaceships are awesome.

Which department is that?

London Metropolitan's Whitechapel 'campus'. It looks like an office block because that's what it is, rented out by the university for classes. Nothing else quite shows how god awful London Met is.
