I was sitting in the middle block, 2nd row from the front on the left hand side (ish) (as if you were looking at the lecturer). Wearing a brown leather jacket thing sat next to a (chinese i think?) girl with a louis vuitton bag

Zeno I know exactly where you are coming from. Do not forget though, not everyone was able to attend the visit day and also visit days in general can be a daunting and artifical experience. You woudln't be able to get the total feel of the uni in my opinion. Thus, I think you will enjoy your three years as people will generally be sociable, as you can see from just this forum alone people share the same concerns as you and so people will want to socialise just as much.
Choice is yours though, where were you sitting?
Hmm just adding on, a law degree from UCL is probably just as highly regarded as one from the LSE so career opportunites must be somewhat equal. Just because of a few places on the Times league table, both unis are seen as 'elite'.

2nd from back row, directly in front of the lecturer next to 2 guys. I'm a bbc girl, black jumper and shirt  I think I saw the back of a brown leather jacket but truthfully spent more of my time trying to decipher what the lecturer had said

Thanks for the advice, I think that's pretty much made up my mind for me. LSE it is! Hope to see you in September!

Haha! I was wearing dark blue jeans, with a yellow t-shirt with a brown leathery jacket on - it was kind of shiny hehe.
I have dark hair and its got blonde streaks in it (no I am not a chav people!) and it was flat.
Ha I feel like I am creating one of those e-fits for the police

I private messaged Traum about her comments on her eco group too!

Hey jimmy, your plans sound a bit unrealistic to me... hope it works out as you've planned, but you must know/bear in mind that G&E is an awesome course.

it is, except i am terrible at math so i will probably fail the economics portion of the course. i mean i got rejected for law due to my personal statement (lack of interest) and not my grades according to the law tutor. i do think LSE politics and eco are better than LSE law (the whole oxbridge business) but i really do like law
Trasfer as in start from year 1? Direct entry into 2nd year is not permitted right?

To be honest, I can't imagine how someone with a PS meant for politics/economics could have snuck into a coures like Law at a competitive university. It's no surprise.

Anyhow, I'll see you at LSE next year!

Oh and for those thinking about switching to straight Economics once they arrive there, well there's a very slim chance of that happening. Two years ago apparently the Econ dept. had a poster up during registration that said: "You cannot transfer into us. Go away".

That must have been really funny. :p:

ok that must have been who I talked to.

Was he the one you asked what he was doing and he replied with 'IR' or something?

BTW Barry Buzan is going to be teaching 8 lectures on the IR100 course.

sure was.
Cool, I thought he taught some. 8 sounds so few now, tho.:frown:

I've nothing against them, I'd love to learn with them but they tend to group themselves in inpenetrable 'cliques'. But that's the same for all unis, anything you can say specifically good about LSE? Please, I really need to decide soon:frown:

you've nothing against 'them'?? Is this 'ethnics' you're referring to again?

Sorry but from what you say and the terms that you use, you sound like an absolute close minded idiot making pretty sweeping generalisations. Do you come from some completely uncultured bumpkin village or something?

Yes more than half the students were 'ethnic', what did you expect?
LSE - the most cosmopolitan university in the world. London - the most cosmopolitan city in the world. Surely that's one of the best things about LSE? Getting to meet people from all over the world. Open your mind for ***s sake.

I'm half Venezuelan half Spanish by the way, an 'ethnic' as you so eloquently put it.
Zenophile
That's completely true!! I was quite disappointed by the law talk too - did anyone feel inspired after trying to sift through the accent? Also, of the home students approx half were ethnic. Please somebody who's accepted law at LSE convince me that I'm making the right choice going there instead of UCL

No you should go to UCL, less ethnics.

You should change your name to xenophobe by the way.
